At 3WP I create a tailored approach to achieving something I’ve always felt is so important. What you eat, how you eat, and who you eat with are all important components of how we FEEL about food and our bodies. I started 3WP in 2016 to educate children about food and help them develop skills in the kitchen. I was health coaching and leading cooking classes predominately for kids and families. Then, when I turned 44, I gained 10lbs seemingly overnight. I wasn’t sleeping. I had low energy, terrible mood swings, anxiety, and depression, and my sugar cravings were out of control. At the same time female family, friends, and colleagues were reaching out to me for help with similar issues. I tried my best, but the diet and exercise plans I had recommended in the past weren’t working.
I read everything I could possibly find on women’s health over 40, specifically how our biology changes and what we need to do differently (turns out there’s a lot). I went back to school for a Master of Science in Clinical Nutrition and intentionally chose a intergrative medical school that views the body as a whole system and focuses on the root cause. Through my studies, lots of trial and error, and self-experimentation, I developed a food and exercise plan that helped me feel like myself again. I lost the weight, I had more energy, I was sleeping better and my cravings were under control. I realized I had the tools to help other women like me.
While the focus of 3 Whole Plates has changed a bit, my underlying beliefs have not. You can have a life filled with delicious food AND feel really good. Turning 44 or 54 or 84 is not a bad thing but an opportunity to put yourself first, maybe for the first time ever. At 3WP I will give you the tools to help you feel your best while enjoying delicious food with the people you love.
